RAYALASEEMA SKILL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
In 2012, Manohar Reddy began building a village-based counseling and training center on a mission to train youth for their higher education and employability. The center later became Parvathi Ramakrishna Reddy Society for Rural Employment (Reg. No. 548 of 2016). Manohar Reddy has built a state-of-the-art 20,000 sq. ft. facility on a 4-acre campus which has become the hub to provide hands-on training programs in IT, non-IT, and trade sectors.
The center was opened on June 5, 2015 in the presence of Shri. K.Vijayanand, IAS, Genco M.D. and Shri K.V. Ramana, IAS. Collector, Kadapa District.
The center introduced courses in spoken English, computer training and soft skills (conversation and interview techniques). The center has an MOU with the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC). A training was conducted for 90 students on IT Skills (Java, Web technologies) by professional trainers from Hyderabad and Bangalore, in the same year. Guest lectures were organized where the guests flew in from the U.S.A to share their knowledge with students on real-time IT projects. As English language skills are prime requirement for the employment of the rural youth and their biggest hurdle as well, the youth was trained in communication with professional trainers from New Delhi. It was a privilege to have famous novelist and personality development trainer Shri. Yandamoori Veerendranath gracing the training. He conducted sessions on intra-personal and inter-personal skills. By the end of 3 months training, the center had trained 90 engineering graduates out of the 700 graduates who applied for the program and placed 60 people in some of the top IT Companies like HCL, Capegemini, TCS, Virtusa and many more.
Fourteen of the remaining thirty engineers were offered employment at AP Skill Development Center itself. In 2016, training in SAP Course was also conducted for 50 students.
